The Somaliland Center for Global Transformation (SCGT) Research Fellows Program brings together a diverse network of scholars, analysts, and practitioners committed to shaping Somaliland’s future through evidence-based solutions. Our fellows work across disciplines — from governance and trade policy to sustainability, climate action, and digital innovation — connecting local realities with global insights. By joining SCGT as a Research Fellow, you become part of a collaborative platform where ideas drive impact, partnerships grow, and knowledge transforms into action.

How to Become a Fellow

Eligibility Criteria

We welcome applications from individuals who demonstrate:

  1. Academic or Professional Background in relevant fields such as public policy, sustainable development, trade, governance, climate change, technology, or related disciplines.
  2. Research Experience — proven ability to conduct and publish research, policy briefs, or thought leadership articles.
  3. Commitment to Interdisciplinary Collaboration and interest in connecting Somaliland’s local realities with global trends.
  4. Alignment with SCGT’s Mission to drive evidence-based, innovative solutions for sustainable development.

 

Application Process

  1. Complete the Online Application Form (Form) with your CV, a short bio (150–200 words), and a statement of interest (max 500 words) outlining your research focus and its relevance to SCGT’s work.
  2. Rolling Review: Applications are reviewed throughout the year by the SCGT team.
  3. Notification: Successful applicants will be informed via email.

Note: This is a non-funded position unless external funding becomes available.
